The EU-funded BEinGRID ('Business experiments in GRID') project will hold its BEinGRID Industry Days from 3 to 5 June in Barcelona, Spain. The event will take place in a shared venue with the 23rd Open Grid Forum (OGF23).
Beside talks given by speakers from the software and services industry, the industry days will highlight the best of BEinGRID, including demos of the current 18 business experiments.
A joint plenary session between BEinGRID and OGF will start the event, paving the way for a three-day look into how GRID computing can be utilised in a practical, profitable and competitive manner.
Grid technology is at a critical point as it moves from research and academic use to wider adoption by business and enterprise. Many businesses are still reluctant to employ grid computing.
