The European Research Area Network (ERA-Net) Bioenergy will hold a conference on 28 October in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Discussion will focus on how countries can collaborate in bioenergy research to achieve a structural, cost-effective European research cooperation. Three joint calls will be showcased: one on small-scale combustion started in 2006, one on gasification launched in 2007, and one on short rotation coppice begun earlier this year. Ample opportunity will be given to discuss achievements so far, the process taken in setting up the calls, and the lessons learned with experts in these fields.

The conference is intended for a variety of decision-makers, including: representatives from the European Commission and national ministries, directors and senior researchers of research institutes, managers of research programmes and from the bioenergy-related industry, the ERA-Net Bioenergy project committee and management board members, as well as potential new ERA-Net Bioenergy partners.
