A workshop on aviation emission monitoring, reporting and verification will take place on 24 and 25 February in Budapest, Hungary.

The event will focus on the current developments of aviation emissions regulations and the role of environment in corporate responsibility.

Aviation is critical to human activities and it is required to provide increasing levels of services. The challenge is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while improving the efficiency of operations. This will be the focus of the workshop, using case studies, policy discussions, development strategies and research and development (R&D) for sustainable aviation.

Topics to be covered include:
- aviation in the European Union Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS);
- sustainable transportation with new and innovative solutions and technologies;
- flight operations, route planning and maintenance programmes to enhance fuel efficiency;
- energy consumption and the optimisation of ecological impact;
- dealing with moral and ethical problems that arise in a business environment;
- operating with a perspective broader than the immediate and short-term;
- supporting communities in which airlines operate.For further information, please visit:
