THERMIE symposium on clean coal technologies and solutions for the European Union

A symposium on "Clean coal technologies: Solutions for the future of the European Union" will take place during this year's THERMIE exhibition, which is being held on 19-24 September 1994 in Berlin. It is organized by the European Commission (DG XVII).

The symposium, which will take place on 20 September, will examine:

- Legislation, including Commission guidelines and instruments;
- The view of the energy industry on coal as an energy source;
- Overview of modern-day coal technologies;
- "New conventional" coal power plants;
- The coal policy in Denmark;
- Financing of coal combustion plants.
