The European Science Foundation (ESF) and the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) will hold a symposium on 'Cell polarity and membrane traffic' from 23 to 28 May in Sant Feliu de Guixols, Spain.
Cell polarity and vesicle sorting are fundamental biological processes that impact stem cell function, cancer, bacterial and viral infections, developmental defects and neurological diseases. A wide range of topics also connect polarity with membrane transport.
Computational modelling, high throughput screens and revolutionary imaging technologies in multiple model organisms are being applied to these areas and will have a major impact in the future.
Since this is an emerging, interdisciplinary field, the organisers are aiming to attract young people to the meeting and provide opportunities to present their work and meet with scientific leaders.For further information, please click:
