The EU-funded RESIST ('Researching inequality through science and technology') project is organising its final conference on 31 March in Brussels, Belgium.

At the meeting, preliminary conclusions will be presented and discussed before an audience of policy makers, stakeholders and academics. The results of the conference will be included in the final report.

RESIST is funded under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The project was set up in order to analyse the relationships between science and technology (S&T) and different forms of inequality and to examine the options of building more socially inclusive and accountable policies for science, technology and development. The work was focussed on four themes:
- policy changes at global, 'world regional' and national levels;
- intellectual migration of highly skilled personnel and its implications;
- new forms of accountability for S&T;
- the impacts on inequality of newly emerging technologies.For further information, please visit:
