Electronic Media Conference at Frankfurt Book Fair

Following on from the success of last year's digital information forum at the Frankfurt Book Fair, this year will see the start of an Electronic Media Conference at the Fair, involving a total of 32 events in the field of electronic media and digital publishing. The Fair will be held on 5-10 October 1994 in Frankfurt.
As part of the conference, the European Commission will hold an open session on 5 October 1994 on "EU opportunities for electronic publishing support". It will outline ongoing activities targeted towards creating a globally competitive European electronic publishing industry. In addition, it will present opportunities for support available to European publishers in programme areas such as IMPACT (information market policy actions), libraries, and language and information engineering. EC representatives will bring publishers up to date with current and future initiatives including Community programmes and calls for proposals. An industry perspective will be provided by a project manager with experience of working on a cost-shared EU project.
CORDIS products will also be displayed at the Fair, including an on-line demonstration of CORDIS, Watch-CORDIS and the CORDIS CD-ROM.
