A workshop on 'Avoiding ash disruptions: can technology help to manage air space better?' will be held on 23 June 2010 in Brussels, Belgium.

The event will centre around a discussion between experts on how technology can be of use when large clouds of volcanic ash cause problems for air traffic. Invited speakers come from areas related to aviation, meteorology and technology. These include experts from the Pacific Rim, where volcanic eruptions are relatively frequent and experience with volcanic ash issues is long-standing.

The event is being organised by the European Parliament's Science and Technology Options Assessment (STOA).
