A research conference on natural products chemistry, biology and medicine will be held in Acquafredda di Maratea, Italy from 5 to10 September 2010.
The event will focus on the unique architectures and biological activities associated with many of nature's small molecules that are pushing the frontiers in diverse areas inspired by natural products.
Speakers will look at the latest developments related to the isolation of biologically-active natural products, their role in the area of chemical biology and drug development, as well as the inspiration that they provide for the advancement of synthetic chemistry. The field of novel methodology and reaction development is also on the agenda, as are progress in asymmetric catalysis, organocatalysis, C-H bond functionalisation, cascade reactions and applications in the context of natural product total synthesis and medicinally relevant small molecules.
