A workshop entitled "Bottlenecks and solutions in municipal, industrial and hazard waste management" will take place in Noordwijkerhout. the Netherlands, on 28-30 November 1994.

The workshop is part of a series of Euroconferences on environmental sustainability which is organized by the Human Capital and Mobility programme of the European Community.

The aim of the workshop is to identify bottlenecks in the field of waste management and to identify medium-term solutions and to address these solutions through the formation of innovative research proposals with European research partners. Research proposals will focus on a number of high priority waste management themes to be developed in cooperation with industry.

The workshop will focus on:
- Recycling;
- Advanced thermal technology;
- Biological treatment;
- Residue treatment and utilization;
- Disposal and isolation techniques.

The main themes will be examined in the framework of political relevance, regulation limitations and economic opportunities. The workshop will also provide the basis for establishing the significance of research proposals for funding organizations.
