United Kingdom Research Office Annual Conference, Newcastle, UK
Each year, the UK Research Office (UKRO) organises an event designed to promote European funding programmes and implementation issues, and to hear presentations from representatives of the European Commission and other international organisations.
Attendees are expected to include European liaison officers, European research managers, research stakeholders and policymakers. There will also be opportunities to network and make contacts for future research endeavours. Session topics are set to include:
- Marie Curie Actions and European Research Council (ERC) schemes;
- specific areas of Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) Capacities and Co-operation programmes ;
- the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) strand of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) theme;
- FP7 and Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH);
- opportunities within the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP);
- the development of the new Strategic Innovation Agenda from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT);
- recent European Commission work on research careers in Europe;
