Fifth International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence, Barcelona, Spain
The concept of agent has become increasingly important in both Artificial Intelligence (AI) and mainstream computer science. Often described schematically as an abstract functional system similar to a computer program, intelligent agents are sometimes called abstract intelligent agents to distinguish them from their real world implementations such as computer systems, biological systems, or organizations.
Over the past decades, artificial intelligence gave relatively little consideration to the issues surrounding agent synthesis. Since then, there has been an intense flowering of interest in the subject: agents are now widely discussed by researchers in mainstream computer science, as well among those working in data communications and concurrent systems research, robotics and user interface design.
The conference will be a forum for researchers, engineers and practitioners to discuss both applications and current research within the field of agents, multi-agent systems and software platforms. They will also debate distributed problem solving and distributed AI in general, including web applications. For further information, please visit:
