'Underground Synergies with Astro-particle Physics: Multi-Disciplinary Studies in the World's Deep Underground Science Facilities', Durham, UK
The growth of astro-particle physics has resulted in the setup of a small but growing number of deep underground science facilities in Europe and around the world. This is mainly to answer this science's need to for a shield against the interference from cosmic rays. In recent years, these special facilities have become of interest to other areas of science, such as earth and environmental sciences, geology, geophysics, climatology, biology and astrobiology.
The workshop will bring together researchers to discuss the synergies between underground astro-particle physics infrastructures and the opportunities they provide. The aim will be to highlight and identify underground science synergies as well as address scientific, administrative and funding challenges faced by multi-disciplinary scientists when they try to collaborate together and with the industry.For further information, please visit:
