Fourth International Conference on the Theory of Information Retrieval, Copenhagen, Denmark
Information retrieval is the science of effective and efficient retrieval of documents, starting from their semantic content. It is employed to fulfil some information needs from a large number of digital documents. In light of the ever-growing amount of documents available and the heterogeneous data structures used for storage, information retrieval has recently been used in novel applications. Over the years, information retrieval (IR) has proved itself as capable to stretch itself beyond information and computer sciences, reaching mathematics and linguistics and new areas like physics, philosophy, sociology, or biology.
The conference will cover a broad spectrum of research areas related to mathematical/formal aspects of IR, including foundational issues, description or integration of models, retrieval applications, mathematical/formal techniques, existing and/or new theories and theoretical aspects.
This conference will be a forum for discussion and interaction between those with theoretical and applicative research interest in mathematical/formal aspects of information retrieval (IR), including, for example, foundational issues, description or integration of models, retrieval applications, mathematical/formal techniques, existing and/or new theories and theoretical aspects. For further information, please visit:
