Third International Conference on the P-NET Fieldbus System

The Third International Conference on the P-NET Fieldbus System will take place in Silkeborg, Denmark, on 25-26 April 1995. It is organized by the International P-NET User Organization ApS.

In 1993, CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) selected the P-NET fieldbus as one of the common European fieldbus standards for the EN50170 General Purpose Field Communication System. The conference will present the P-NET fieldbus system and its areas of application.

Two ESPRIT III projects which selected P-NET as their fieldbus standard will be presented:

- The CIA (Computer Integrated Agriculture) project, which aims to design an open and modular information system for the agricultural sector. The project consortium has selected P-NET as the fieldbus for the integration of stationary equipment;
- The PROFICELL (Programmable Fieldbus Cell) project, which aims to develop a programmable fieldbus interface macrocell.

An exhibition will be staged by companies who manufacture P-NET products or provide system solutions. A P-NET application will be available for a hands-on demonstration.
