The 10th international symposium on "Non-destructive testing of wood" will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 26-28 August 1996. It is organized by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, with support from the European Commission in the framework of the COST programme for scientific and technological cooperation in Europe.

The symposium will present the latest developments in the non-destructive evaluation of wood quality. Themes include nuclear and x-ray techniques, mechanical property evaluation techniques, acoustics, ultrasonic and vibration techniques, and in-situ measurements and historical timber structure evaluation.

In addition, an exhibition will present the most recent commercial devices and applied techniques in the field of non-destructive wood testing.
