Two events in the field of security in information technology (IT), organized by the European Commission (DG XIII) in the framework of the Community action in the field of security in information systems (INFOSEC), will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 7 and 8 November 1996.
The "European Conference on IT Security and Common Criteria", which will be held on 7 November 1996, will provide a high-level overview of IT security evaluation in Europe. Topics to be covered will include an overview of the common criteria project and its commercial evaluation, as well as national schemes in this area and commercial and government needs.
The "European Expert Workshop on Development of Common Criteria and Security Evaluation of Firewalls", to be held on 8 November 1996, will provide the opportunity for experts to discuss the common criteria with their authors at a much more detailed level.
