Third International Workshop on Telework
The workshop will include an in-depth discussion of key contemporary issues in teleworking and other forms of virtual work. The event will concentrate in particular on four main aspects of telework:
- The decision-making environment - assessing costs and benefits of teleworking and integrating them into business plans;
- The workplace environment - building workplaces that embrace virtual working possibilities and providing stimulating and productive work interaction, including social and emotional support;
- The management environment - controlling, coordinating and integrating work processes that include remote workers, colleagues and business partners;
- The societal environment - the consequences of teleworking for society, transport and ecology.
Papers for the workshop are welcomed, especially in the following areas:
- Creating a telework workplace;
- Cost/benefit analysis of telework;
- Management over distance;
- Social acceptance of a teleworker at home, working organization and neighbourhood;
- Managing informal organization and information as a teleworker;
- Implications of telework for society.
