The research group currently working on a yeast project funded under the EU's Biotechnology research programme are seeking to fill a two-year post-doctoral research position. Applicants should have broad experience in protein chemistry and standard techniques in molecular biology. The project entitled "Increase of the potential of utilising the yeast Hansenula polymorpha as a producer of biopharmaceuticals" has four main aims: - Optimisation of secretion of overexpressed proteins; - Optimisation of screens to characterise these proteins; - Optimisation of homologous recombination in H. polymorpha; - Enhancement of expression rates and improvement of regulation of foreign genes in H. polymorpha.
