Online submission available for the EXCELLENCIA AWARDS, the fourth election of the famoust high-tech women in Europe
After awarding 36 finalists and 15 remarkable laureates in only three years in France, the Excellencia Awards Committee extends its contest this year to select the Top High Tech Girls throughout Europe with a similar process. Now it is time for applicants to submit either their own profile or the application of one of their colleagues or employees to expect a selection for the online election that will be organized on our Web site starting in March. The Excellencia Awards Committee and its partners will accept profile submission until February 29th 2008, 23h59 (Brussels Time). The submission is only available online on the Excellencia Web site (http://www.excellencia.eu ). The complete URL is: http://www.excellencia.eu/index.php?option=com_facileforms&Itemid=49(opens in new window) Candidates could apply in one of the five available categories: - Fundamental Research - Applied Research - Working at the vendor, supplier or provider of technologies - Working in a Using organisation - Students Their profiles will be evaluated, in terms of accomplishments and motivation in both the professional and the personal areas, by national jury who will pre select a list of finalists in each European country. The finalists bios will then be anonymously published on the Excellencia Web site? Visitors – but also friends, family and colleagues – will then have the opportunity to vote for their preferred finalists through a secured on line process. The best ranked in each categories will get the title of Excellencia Awards 2008 Laureate in their country and many useful rewards from our partners. At the European level, the experts of all the local jury will then have to elect the European Excellencia Winners 2008 within all the local laureates. Their identity and complete profile will be disclosed during the European Excellencia Awards Ceremony in fall 2008 in front of many stakeholders of many areas : new technologies, economy, politics, culture and sports. . Created in 2005 by Innov.Europe following an idea of the French engineering school Epita, and with the support of Microsoft France, the Excellencia Awards aim at improving the image of technological and engineering careers, especially in the most innovative segments (computing, Internet, telecoms, transports, communication, biotech, nanotech…). The objective of the Awards is to show that a woman could have a balanced life while entering into such a career, to increase the number of young girls choosing this area for their studies.
