The European Commission, DG X, has published the 1999 call for proposals under the RAPHAEL Community action programme in the field of cultural heritage. In accordance with the objectives of the programme, the projects selected will highlight common cultural features and transnational currents that have contributed to the emergence of a common cultural heritage. Proposals may be submitted under the following actions: - Conservation, safeguarding and enhancement of movable cultural heritage through European cooperation; - Cooperation for the exchange of experiences and the development of techniques applied to heritage: . Support for projects aiming at the mobility and training of professionals; . Support for the exchanges of experience and information; - Public awareness and use of immovable cultural heritage: . Support for transnational cooperation projects between institutions/operators for the enhancement of and accessibility to the heritage; . Support for events to raise public awareness of cultural heritage.
