The European Commission, DG XII, has published a call for tenders relating to a study on 'Fund raising for RTD in Europe: a user's perspective of the interaction between public and private investment in technological development'. This should contribute to the development of better complementarity between the Framework Programmes and private sector funding for research, technological development and innovation activities in the European Union. The study will aim to: - Map out the willingness of the financial sector in the Member States to fund research projects, such as those funded at the European level by the Framework Programmes; - Compare the processes and criteria used by financiers with those used by the European Union and establish the relations, similarities and/or differences between them.
