A Web portal for teachers and pupils called EMU has been launched in Denmark. The aim of this site is to become the prime portal for the educational world in Denmark. The site includes a shop, EMUtikken, which contains downloadable educational software. These can be easily accessed, and many of them are free. The intention is to add more commercial products to the range on offer, which will be paid for on-line using a secure server. Producers of educational software can easily offer their own creations by uploading to the site. This way, teachers and other professionals can market and sell products without needing a technical and organisational framework. Commercial producers will be charged five per cent of the sale.
