A new booklet has been published to show how to build successful multi-partner projects under the Innovation/SME programme of the Fifth Framework programme. Entitled 'The synergy approach', the booklet provides a transparent guide as to the use of moderated planning workshops in the process of agreeing and planning a project. There are different types of workshop and these should be held at various stages throughout the contract. The most common types are kick off meetings (designed to develop shared and cluster type activity), start-up workshops (after the first six months of a contract) and problem solving workshops. The booklet goes on to explain the practical advantages of these workshops, what is expected of the participants, how the workshops are organised and what additional support measures can assist.
