In order to mark the launch of the new Training and Mobility of Researchers (TMR) programme in 1994, the Commission held a series of TMR briefing seminars in the 15 Member States of the European Union. In response to demand, the Commission intends to repeat a similar exercise in 1996. Targeted mainly at information multipliers, industrial representatives, European liaison officers, research officers and individual scientists, these events will provide the opportunity to learn more about TMR. The seminars will concentrate mainly on the opportunities provided by: - Activity 2: Access to large scale facilities; - Activity 3a: Research training grants; - Activity 4: Accompanying measures (Euroconferences, Summer Schools and Practical Training Courses). To maximize the information flow the Commission will arrange for these seminars to be held in cities which have not yet hosted such an event. Responsible organizers in Member States will be encouraged, in particular, to respond to the needs of industry.
