The European Training Foundation has published a new edition of the "Guide for Applicants" for the TEMPUS PHARE cooperation programme for higher education in the Central and Eastern European countries. The Guide, which should be used by applicants for funding for the academic year 1997/98, contains guidelines and application forms for the three separate actions supported by TEMPUS PHARE: - Joint European Projects (JEPs); - Individual mobility grants; - Compact measures grants. TEMPUS PHARE is funded from the Community's overall budget for the PHARE technical assistance programme for the associated countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The programme, in common with the TEMPUS TACIS programme for higher education cooperation with the New Independent States of the former Soviet Union, is managed by the European Training Foundation, an agency of the European Union, based in Turin, Italy.
