The final 1996 edition of "Euroabstracts", providing information and abstracts of RTD-related publications from the European Community has been published. Section I contains a number of articles outlining RTD publications from Member States, international organizations such as the OECD and the UN, and from third countries including Japan, Poland and Korea. The "EC Briefing" section details a number of recent publications from the community's research programmes. These include BRITE/EURAM, INNOVATION and ACTS. Other publications highlighted in this section are directories of information sources, and include country specific RTD guides and Community-level guides to innovation support, in particular for SMEs. The major feature in the December 1996 issue is on publications relating to research into growing crops for energy use. In particular, these relate to research conducted under the AIR and FAIR specific RTD programmes. Other featured publications include two series, one on "Telematics for Libraries" and the other on "Transport" research, and the Fourth Report of the European SME Observatory. The "Webwatch" section highlights the recently launched homepage of the "Education and Training" sector of the Telematics Applications specific RTD programme. Section II includes abstracts of over 300 recent Community publications on research, science and technology, covering a wide range of subjects, including: earth sciences; engineering and technology; energy; life sciences; materials; mathematics; computers and telecommunications; nuclear science and engineering and physics.
