The European Commission, DG XII, has prepared a video entitled "Inventing Tomorrow" which aims to show the range of activities covered by Community research and which looks forward to the future Fifth RTD Framework Programme. The video presents several research projects supported by the EU. It shows the value of European cooperation in tackling major scientific and technological challenges, outlining the success stories and detailing the results achieved by the projects. Currently some 10,000 research projects are receiving Community support. The video aims to show what a typical project looks like and what results can be expected from it. Going beyond current research, the video also aims to address the future priorities of Community research, putting the Fifth Framework Programme into context. It shows clearly that today's major concerns and problems will be addressed by the EU's research programmes in the coming years.
