innovative pump architecture for cooling electrical machine
These days due to continuous electric power need growth aboard aircarfts, VFSG (variable frequency starter generators) are asked to deliver higher power, leading to the need for efficient cooling system design where scave pumps shall allow to optimize mass, durability, and availability as required by aircraft manufacturers. Thus these new VFSG machines will need some innovative pump architectures for better integration (mass/space envelope) and higher efficiency (less rotating parts for instance).
