Optimization of TiAl CALPHAD databases of respective material systems
The intent of this call is to develop an advanced CALPHAD database for TiAl materials. Available thermodynamic databases are not capable to calculate the newest generation TiAl alloys as accurate as necessary and therefore need to be improved by further experimental investigation of missing ternary phase diagrams. The resulting simulation capability will enable to optimize and tailor TiAl compositions and manufacturing processes more efficiently to widen the application range of light weight TiAl turbine engine components.
