Expediting Adoption of e-working Collaborative Environments

Objective

The project will review and analyse the technical, organisational, economic, market, legal and regulatory factors for the adoption of new Collaborative Tools in e-Working environments for e-Business, e-Professionals and e-Government across EU member states in a number of targeted studies. Furthermore, it will produce policy, organisational and technological recommendations, which can be used to overcome the identified obstacles and maximise the benefits of the Working Environments value process. It will also describe current and future technological trends expected to play a key role in this field, and include a reference to the role of Open Source Software (OSS). The project will implement a common virtual space via the Collaborative e-Working Environment (CeW) platform for the collaboration and knowledge sharing of communities involved in the development of technologies and policies for e-Working environments based on the research results of the project.

CeW will be an open initiative where companies, organisations and individuals from different Member States can have access to information regarding Collaborative Working environments and contribute irrespective of size or locality. The platform will act as an electronic work environment in which the numerous continuously changing networks of companies that create added value collaborative working environment products and services are supported by extremely high quality e-Collaboration tools and services for effective B2B, B2C, B2A transactions. The demonstrator will serve also as an example of applying the project recommendations and good practices for e-Working environments design and implementation across EU member states.
