Advanced robotic systems in future collaborative working environments

Description du projet

Collaborative Working Environments

The objective of this STREP is to propose integrative concepts of advanced robotic systems, to be seen as active collaborative agents, in different working environment clusters and operated through various control paradigms. ROBOT@CWE will design suitable architectures and technologies to achieve this goal. Actual developments in robotics tend toward human-centered design raising issues in: human-machine interface, human-robot interaction, working robots, ubiquitous robotics, humanitarian robotics in rescue mission, and security. We will propose evolution strategies toward collaborative-working-centered design and IST-robotics concepts on the basis of new technologies such as virtualized mixed environments, multimedia communication, ubiquitous environments, teleworking. This would lead robotics to spread smoothly and take shape in additional areas of human work. Hence, this STREP redefines work as agent contributions including IST-robots through different collaborative schemes. We will focus on drawing working taxonomies that includes previously cited issues while considering future European cooperative societies. Another originality of the proposed project is in its thorough concern of societal studies to asset different choices and predicting their impact on our societies. That is to say, study their real potential to create work, reduce industry delocalization, usability, benefits and acceptability. Another important point of ROBOT@CWE is the implication of industries in providing roadmaps and guidelines in research and development of IST-robotics in real applications. ROBOT@CWE will draw promising novel directions in the robotics research field to make future systems fulfil collaborative working stakes. We will take into consideration European needs in the frame of other IST objectives (eWorking, ambient intelligence, etc.). Thus we will link with other retained projects in this call. On the international level, we will network with partners in America and Asia
