Report on occurrence of GPCAG allele in tsetse control areas (opens in new window)

Report on occurrence and frequency of a particular allele at GPCAG microsatellite locus in residual tsetse flies in areas under vector control. Tsetse Genotyping data at 10 microsatellite loci, including GPCAG; analysis of these data to conclude if this GPCAG allele is ubiquitous in residual tsetse fly population after control in Centre-West Cte dIvoire and in the coastal area of Senegal.

Report on workshops and trainings conducted during the third year (opens in new window)

List of the trainings and workshop organised by the partners during the year 3. This will include the description of the training, the names and affiliations of the attendees, and a compilation of the evaluation sheets filled by each attendee.

Consolidated reports on courses conducted to transfer competences gained in COMBAT workshops to academic staff for year 2, 3 and 4 (updated at M24; M36; M48) (opens in new window)

The consolidated list of all competence transfer workshop conducted by each partner having participated to a COMBAT course to their own academic and technical staff will be provided. This will encompass a short description of the provided training, with duration and number of attendees. The list will be updated each end year.

Report on the presence of wild residual male flies during eradication phase (opens in new window)

Report on the presence (and number) of wild residual male flies during eradication phase based on the data obtained using molecular method that discriminates between remnant wild tsetse flies and the released sterile ones (of the same species, G. p. gambiensis or others) in SIT used in Senegal.

Report on the vector competency of G. brevipalpis: data analysis of an experiment to assess the vectorial competence of G. brevipalpis to T.congolense (infection rate, )

Calendar of the trainings and workshop organised by the partner for the coming 12 months will be provided at month 3, month 15, month 27 and months 39. No such activities are planned for the first three months of the project.

A report summarizing the capacity developing activities carried out at country level to strengthen AT surveillance and control, including training on data management and risk mapping.

Consolidated report on tsetse population genetic analysis to assist control strategy decision making (opens in new window)

Consolidated report with assessement of genetic distances between tsetse populations in order to identify isolated populations that could be targeted for elimination. This will be done in Mozambique for G. brevipalpis populations between southern Mozambique and Central Mozambique (Gorongosa National Park) [M30]; in Senegal (Sine Saloum region), for G. p. gambiensis and G. m. submorsitans [M36]; and in Cte dIvoire after identification of potential suitable areas for elimination using Maxent modelling [M36].

Report on Stomoxys spp. vector capacity (opens in new window)

Report on Stomoxys spp. vector capacity (chiefly Stomoxys spp ): data analysis on regurgitation of blood from the crops of Stomoxys to determine their capacity for delayed transmission of blood-pathogens; the report will include inofrmation on volume of blood-content in the crop, mechanism and volume of blood regurgitated, length of survival of trypanosomes in the crop, and potential serial transmission of T. evansi.

A project Website will be constructed by CIRAD in liaison with CIRDES, and maintained by the latter. Representatives from UEM and CIRDES (one each) will coordinate the Communication Team.
