Resilient forest value chains – enhancing resilience through natural and socio-economic responses

Livrables

Inventory of forest resilience indicators and metrics

Informed and structured list of forest resilience indicators obtained in Task 11 from literature and partners expertise The inventory will also include a report of different resilience metrics and its applicability on identified indicators The inventory will be designed to offer a set of preestablished indicators to be applied and tested in the different study cases Tasks 22 24 and will be used in the analysis of value chain resilience Tasks 32 33 The inventory will be the base for the assessment on forest resilience indicators and metrics D12 and the reference guide of resilience indicators and metrics D16

Dissemination & exploitation plan and communication strategy

Available as an online document the strategy describes 1 target groups 2 communication dissemination and exploitation channels 3 key messages to deliver 4 synergies with existing networks and European initiatives and 5 defines a list of tools and strategic actions to maximise dissemination outreach and impact The strategy will later be updated in D64 and D65 and its implementation reported in D610

Resilience indicators and metrics assessment

Report analysing the relationship of resilience indicators with ecosystem services considering relevant challenges and stressors and assessing the appropriateness of different metrics It will be an output from Tasks 11 and 12 The conclusions of this assessment will also be incorporated to modelling tools Task 13 dealing with different biogeographical contexts and management regimes later applied in Tasks 22 and 24 in the analysis of current value chains resilience in Tasks 32 and 33 and in the integrated assessment for better management of future forest valuechain resilience Task 52 D12 will be based on the inventory of forest resilience indicators D11 and will serve to build the reference guide of resilience indicators D16

Updated dissemination & exploitation plan and communication strategy as well as first reporting

Based on partners input and feedback from stakeholder engagement activities the dissemination exploitation plan and communication strategy will be updated with the first project reporting Reporting will integrate the reporting of KPI indicated in Chapter 2 Tables 22a and 22b

Report on Europe's forests disturbance regimes and their changes over time

The report will summarize the key descriptors of Europes forest disturbance regimes ie disturbance size frequency and severity and their changes over time at variable scales ie local regional national The summaries will be provided in both map and table format Areas of rapid change ie hot spots will be highlighted The deliverable will utilize input from Task 21

Presentation on modelling approaches in different case studies to other participants

This demonstrator presents the assumptions and modelling approaches applied in Task 4.4 in different RESONATE case studies, which slightly differ from case to case. Management options and model approach and assumptions for enhancing forest ecosystem and forest value chain resilience with respect to the four resilience challenges will be presented and described.

Online map of disturbance hotspots

The online map will indicate all forest disturbances occurring between 1986 and 2020 across Europe, with year of disturbance, disturbance severity, and the likely agent of disturbance. The map will be free to access and provide information on disturbance attributes (i.e., year, severity, agent), highlight of specific years, and disturbance area. The underlying map products will be made freely available through a download-link to a permanent repository. The deliverable will utilize input from Task 2.1

Development of information material: RESONATE visual identity and general project brochure

This deliverable will establish a unique and recognizable identity for RESONATE including a logo specific colour letter style etc Based on this new visual identity a brochure in electronic format to be used as PrintonDemand will be developed It will briefly introduce the RESONATE project its objectives and help RESONATE partners to present the project at project and own organizations events and can be translated in different project languages as needed
