The report targets O15. It consists of a review of findings in WPs 1-3, meta-analyses and empirical modelling in demonstrations areas of the interactions of fire with other risks (e.g: soil erosion, landslides, air pollution, emissions of radioactive smoke and radiation, and the intertwined effects of drought, insect disturbances, forest mortality), either through cascading effects or compound events in landscape dynamics (as per Zscheischler et al., 2020, e.g: climatic, societal and economic drivers/impacts). The report shall look into the potential for the recovery of ecosystems from such cascading effects. Likewise, it will include outcomes on the subjects from the demonstration areas, e.g: the cascading effects of peatland fires on air pollution, the compound events of drought, tree mortality and fires.
