Key Inclusive Development Strategies for LifeLongLearning

Periodic Reporting for period 2 - KIDS4ALLL (Key Inclusive Development Strategies for LifeLongLearning)

Reporting period: 2022-04-01 to 2024-03-31

The project was grounded on 3 Key Inclusive Development Strategies (KIDS) towards LifeLongLearning (LLL), which represent the specific objectives of the project: 1) Fostering acquisition, maintenance and cultivation of competences related to the 8 LLL key areas; 2) Enhancing the methodological competences of educators towards inclusive and participatory teaching; 3) Testing the concept of peer-to-peer learning in the form of buddyship collaboration (guided pairing of learners). KIDS4ALLL implemented a pilot action that experimented a learning method and learning environment (platform and handbook)) in formal, non- and informal educational contexts in 8 different national contexts to address the integration challenges of migrant children.

Progress beyond the state of the art:

The expected overall end result of the KIDS4ALLL project has been the testing and introduction of a 3-phase learning method built on targeted peer collaboration between learners that puts individual knowledge and competence stocks in the centre of the learning process and valorises them accordingly for mutual skills transmission.
The KIDS4ALLL project team has constantly taken into account socio-political conditions and emergencies, and adopted accordingly ad-hoc solutions (e.g. the decision to dedicate a certain amount of funding to additional translations of learning material into Ukrainian language).

Potential impacts
On socio-cultural and scientific level the KIDS4ALLL project introduces findings from (non)formal learning contexts on innovative pedagogical learning methods, and the efficacy of collaborative learning techniques. The developed and tested learning environment, method and materials that will be at disposal free of charge are presumed to improve social cohesion. to, support collaboration between migrant and non-migrant children and different educational environments. On policy level, it aims to provide specific input for policy recommendations on how to address integration challenges of migrant children in various educational contexts and targeted competence building in line with European standards.
Finally, on economic level, it is likely to suggest measures and strategies in reducing costs for using migrant-services.
