Mapping Overview of the local ecosystem of each participating astronomy institute

Assessment of partners and respective ecosystems. Ask partner knowledge institutions to provide an overview of existing initiatives and multidisciplinary collaborations in the field of astronomy through a “quick scan” tool developed by ECE to understand the local entrepreneurial ecosystem of each PhD programme.

Feedback process for project participants

Establish Feedback processes:• Facilitate dialogue and feedback mechanisms for project participants: astronomy graduate students and trainers who participate in train-the-trainer (WP2) and training workshops (WP3), the educators and students who engage in the training activities and the mOOC (WP5) and through communication activities (WP5).• Share learnings continuously throughout the project across partners to encourage the use of best practices.

Piloted and validated impact evaluation research instruments

Develop research instruments for impact evaluation:• Create quantitative and qualitative evaluation tools.• Pilot and validate instruments for use in WP2 and WP3 activities.

Co-created skills training for PhD candidates to be implemented in each HEI and roadmap of the local implementation strategy

• Develop the structure and the programme of the training, based on the inputs from Tasks 2.1-2.2, the concepts of open science (including RRI, gender and ethics), open innovation and entrepreneurship and career-orientation, including a daily agenda, the involvement of external speakers and the development of materials. ULEI develops the open science module and ST DOTSPACE develops career-oriented training in the form of a masterclass.• Invite all partners to provide feedback on the programme for validation before the official launch. ECE hosts a kick-off webinar for the selected participants to activate and motivate them for the Train-the-Trainer programme and introduce them to the topics of the course.• After completion of the Train-the-Trainer programme, the acquired expertise is used to finalise the training programme.

Train-the-Trainer programme and advanced Experiential Learning tools to use during the training sessions

Ideate a first set-up of the training, based on ECE’s research – and experience-based knowledge about organising a Train-the-Trainer programme, complemented with the most recent advancements in the field (research and best practices). UL leads the module on open science. Share this initial set-up of the training with all consortium partners for a first review.ECE hosts the 4-day Train the Trainer programme on their campus with the selected teaching staff from the project partners.• ECE executes the modules about entrepreneurship and open innovation, a trainer from UL is responsible for the open science module and a trainer from ST DOTSPACE is responsible for familiarising the teaching staff with the format and process of the career-oriented masterclass.• Ideation on the integration of the skills training with existing or new curricula at the local level with participating teaching staff. Co-develop a roadmap with the participants to tailor the course to the local ecosystem in their respective countries.• The programme is facilitated face-to-face, but ECE will ensure the feasibility of an online version, should it become impossible for all participants to have a physical gathering.• Organise a one-day tour for the participants in the Train-the-Trainer programme to showcase the Dutch entrepreneurial ecosystem, and especially the role of a knowledge institution therein, in a sector to be determined together with the consortium partners (e.g. logistics).

mOOC of training modules

Develop a mini Online Open Course (mOOC):• Develop a mini Online Open Course (mOOC) of the training modules developed in WP2.• Support the localisation of training resources and online content
