Layout recommendations for multi fuel stations (separation distances/hazardous areas classification)

Determination of safety distances related to the H2 dispenser regarding vulnerability, potential impact in case of failure and definition of hazardous area for the dispenser and its accessories (with the determination of the radius and shapes for each dispenser’s component)

Assessment of dispersion for high pressure H2

The scenarios which need to be modelled and the reason why the use of CFD tools is required (demonstrate that they are realistic scenarios that cannot be assessed using “engineering tools”) will be described in detail. The selected CFD tool swill be described together with the modelling assumptions and validation. The final result is a set of simulations (concentration contour maps).

Guidelines with a common approach to risk assessment, and impact on the permitting requirements, defining the safe design(s) for hydrogen refuelling stations in a multi-fuel context with layout recommendations between the dispenser and the other components of the refuelling station and hazardous area around H2 dispenser

This deliverable will describe in detail the permitting rules and regulations incl safety distances and public guidance on risk assessment methodologies and will highlight differences similarities and gaps between rules and approaches taken in different MS A first version will be prepared in M9 to feed into the design of WP2 and WP3 and a revised version will be prepared at the end of the project to consider the progress achieved during this period

Fire and explosion hazard assessment summary report

The practical consequences of ignited leakages resulting fault on H2 dispensers onto other dispensers and vice versa will be provided. The experimental choices will be justified and described together with the results (pressure traces, heat fluxes, damages). The most efficient safety barriers will also be presented and the performances of some of them will be assessed based on realistic tests.

Set of recommendation for standard

Set of recommendations extracted from the best practice and that can be used for future standards establishment or revision.
