Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

The AICCELERATE project develops a cloud-based tool that combines Artificial Intelligence and robotics to promote a state-of-the-art hospital model through three concrete pilots that will incorporate new processes to optimise the patient flow in surgical units and rooms, will promote early detection and a digital care pathway for Parkinson’s disease patients, as well it will provide services for paediatrics patients. The objective is to optimise hospital processes and to improve the quality of patient care.

Nowadays, most Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions applied to the health sector are limited to isolated applications. For this reason, scalable models that address data sharing, integration, privacy, and ethics are needed to ensure better adoption of AI in healthcare fields. In this sense, AICCELERATE’s approach extends digital solutions compatible with Artificial Intelligence for different cases of hospital uses, aimed at improving patient care. With the innovative solution developed within the project, hospital challenges and problems can be addressed from two perspectives: the patient’s vision and on the other hand, the hospital management.

The consortium of the AICCELERATE project, coordinated by the Helsinki University Hospital (HUS), is formed by 16 partners from 8 different European countries.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

The Communication and Dissemination activities are following the strategy set in D7.1 and include active, effective, and attractive communication, ensuring the transfer of project results to the market. All the channels created are following the same look and feel designed for the project and all the efforts are put into high-value content creation that promotes engagement with the audience.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

The WP7 Exploitation activities have identified potential Key Exploitable Results, assessed the situation of AICCELERATE organisations to implement and commercialise the solution, and mapped the stakeholders relevant to WP7 activities. All of it is stated in D7.3.
