Silicon-Photonics Hot-Electron Light Sources

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - SPOTLIGHT (Silicon-Photonics Hot-Electron Light Sources)

Reporting period: 2022-09-01 to 2025-02-28

The aim of the SPOTLIGHT project is to design, build, measure, and explore a novel class of light sources based on silicon bowtie structures. We will pioneer hitherto unexplored light sources that use strongly enhanced light-matter interaction to dramatically increase the radiative decay rate of emitters.

2. Rosiek, Arregui, Vladimirova, Albrechtsen, Vosoughi Lahijani, Christiansen, Stobbe. Nature Photonics 17, 386 (2023).
Both papers created considerable attention, e.g. News and Views in Nature and Nature Photonics, Nature podcast, interviews, etc.
We have founded a new spin-out company, Lizard Photonics ApS, which builds directly on the scientific results of the SPOTLIGHT project.
