Deliverables
The ENGINE system demonstrator in WP1 requires personnel that know how to operate it. The developed training and upskilling materials (T7.2) will be piloted at industrial partner manufacturing plants. VALTEH will gather feedback on training materials and employee well-being before and after piloting. We will add extra questions to their periodic surveys. Lastly, VALTEH will compile an employee well-being report showing how the upskilling and ENGINE system changed their well-being.
Dissemination, communication and networking action plan (opens in new window)On-line: The project website will be launched by M4. Use of social media (LinkedIn, Twitter) will establish and maintain public engagement. A video about the project results will be available at M30 and widespread through the online channels. 6 newsletters will be produced. Off-line: local dissemination events to involve/engage local stakeholders, as well as workshops for more focused discussions. Dissemination activities: a) General Public: leaflets, brochures, posters, press releases (every 6 months). Partners will participate in high visibility events, such as the European Researchers’ Night, Science on Stage Festival, European Science Festival, etc. b) Scientific Community. The project will also be showcased at Conferences. c) Industrial Community: via industrial fairs and exhibitions, dissemination workshops will be organized to present the project and verify interest towards new products/technologies. Articles will be published in specialized newsletters and industry-focused magazines/trade journals targeting specific audiences.
Final report on communication and networking activities (opens in new window)Final report on communication and networking activities.
Skills requirements and specifications (opens in new window)VALTEH will compile current training practices of WAR, WIT, SIFR, and ABS to understand how the manufacturing plant personnel is trained and upskilled currently. Current practices will be updated by VALTEH based on the expertise of their teachers, with new approaches in education literature and best practices used in manufacturing plants of their clients outside of the consortium. In addition, VALTEH will take the data, software, and hardware specifications (T2.1, T3.1, T4.1) into account. Lastly, they will define a set of requirements and specifications for the training and upskilling materials.
Report on identified standardization gaps (opens in new window)This deliverable is based on task T5.3 which monitors existing standards and ENGINE innovations to determine the industrial standards we should be following. It will interact with T2.1, T3.1, and T4.1 respectively data, software, and hardware specifications and ensure standardization inputs in specifications. There are gaps in current standardization, which we will then investigate and propose a pathway to full standardization. Currently, we have identified that marine LCA, accelerated certification procedures in cases when sufficient knowledge about material behaviour is gathered extensively and NDE related acceptance rules, inspection rules and guidelines when utilizing the increased knowledge and methodologies like AI driven defect assessment are gaps where to contribute to existing standards. Particularly for NDE, review the qualification of NDE inspection procedures according to ENIQ (European Network for Inspection and Qualification) and international regulations is a specific topic of interest in the scope of ENGINE production. The development of the acceptance criteria, inspection procedures and validate for use in different countries and assess possibilities for harmonization is a topic to be considered and contributed.
The project will follow the ethics appraisal procedure in Horizon Europe. The aim is to ensure that the provisions on ethics regulation and rules are respected. VTT as coordinator will propose an external and independent expert to act as Ethics Advisor (EAd). The EAd will monitor the ethics issues involved in the project and how they are handled. The EAd will attend project meetings when necessary and will be consulted on all ethical issues. An Ethics Board composed by 5 partners representatives will be appointed at kick-off meeting. The Ethics Board will convene during Consortium Meetings to discuss and monitor project’s ethical issues. Further meetings will be organised as appropriate. By the end of M3 the Ethics Board will deliver an Ethics Plan (D9.3) detailing the forthcoming actions and responsibilities to ensure that ethics requirements are satisfied. The Ethics Plan will include a schedule to obtain and deliver all documents related to Ethics requirements identified in Part A.
Interactive website and training materials for plant workers (opens in new window)Training videos, lecture notes, tests, guidelines for teachers will be developed by VALTEH staff. Industrial partners will provide feedback to make sure that industry-ready materials are developed. Equipment for virtual reality and 3D cave simulations is owned by VALTEH and will be used to develop simulations of manufacturing plant environment. Information about manufacturing plants, such as their layouts, production lines etc., will be provided by WÄ, WIT, SIFR, and ABS. VALTEH staff will create the training and upskilling materials in Latvian and English. Translations in other languages, if deemed necessary, will be made by industrial partner personnel. Lastly, VALTEH will develop the interactive website to make the developed materials available to public, companies, and other professional education institutions. The interactive website will be a section on VALTEH website.
ENGINE toolbox (opens in new window)The four packages will be integrated into ENGINE toolbox to enable seamless and comprehensive modelling. We will follow with comprehensive integration and user testing to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and usability of the finished ENGINE toolbox, and verification and validation to ensure trustworthiness of results. Also, we will create documentation, demonstrate examples from verification and validation cases.
Data management plan (opens in new window)The consortium will prepare a Project Data Management Plan (PDMP; D9.2) including a description of methodology and standards to be followed, what data sets are exploitable or made accessible for verification and re-use. The PDMP will be a dynamic tool that is updated regularly throughout the project duration. The PDMP and data management will be the tasks of the Data Manager.
