Resultado final
Software used for processing of data from various sensors, such as RGB/multispectral cameras or LIDAR (will be specified during the research), and recognition of materials in construction waste based on analytical and AI algorithms. The software will utilize AI models based on comprehensive datasets collected with individual sensors for all materials of interest, eliminating the need for human interference in the decision-making process. The software will be designed to enable the fully autonomous sorting of construction and demolition waste.
Preparation, negotiation, conclusion and adoption of consortium agreement which clarifies rules, duties, obligations and rights between the project partners, which are not covered and ruled by the Project Grant Agreement. It covers also actions and manners how the consortium is organized and managed. Project Handbook provides additional rules, definitions and explanations for operational execution of the project with respect to financial procedures and obligations, reporting etc.
An automated system for planning and decision making on deconstruction and demolition supported by a database of EoSL materials and products (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)Taking the digital twin model developed in D3.1 as the starting point, the report of deliverable D3.2 will describe how to automate the waste audit, i.e. the planning and decision making on deconstruction and demolition. It will consist of the following main sections: (1) a description of the digital twin of the construction; (2) a database of EoSL materials and products; (3) methodology of optimisation to achieve the highest value of reuse and recycling; (4) quantities of different types of waste materials and reusable components to be extracted from the EoSL construction, based on an optimisation process; (5) recommendation for downstream processing of recyclable materials and reusable components.
Methodology for a material mapping dataset (databank) and C&D waste predictor application/solution integrated in BIM processes (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)Development and formulation of a methodology for cloud-based datasets, based on data agnostic platform allowing ease of use and simple workflows through the use of API links into existing design authoring applications used form planning and consturction processes. Such methodology shall define requirements on information which have to be provided about:• Materials /products technical and environmental data are known• Materials/products and systems that use a high proportion of recycled/recyclable material are identified (link to T5.3)• Information about manufacturers who offer ‘return schemes’ for construction waste produced during construction (incl. maintenance and rehabilitation) are identified • Proportions of manufactured material that can be recycled at the end-of-life or even re-used completely new product are defined.• Materials / products that have limited potential for recycling once they become contaminated with other products, e.g., partitions and facades that incorporate lots of products to build up the system including one material bonded to another. This represents one of the approaches how to integrate life-cycle based waste management in the whole digitalized construction process.
Data Management Plan (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)The aim of this deliverable is the preparation and adoption of the project Data Management Plan which is one of the mandatory deliverables and documents which have to be provided by the consortium and have to be used and updated during the project execution phase.

Methods of automated conversion of construction information from different sources to a common platform for creating the digital twin of end of service life (EoSL) construction (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)The report for this deliverable will contain the following main sections: (1) digital information needed for development of an automated waste audit of end of service life construction; (2) a detailed description of the most common of types of EosL construction in different EU countries and UK to be covered for development of their digital twins; (3) a library of paper based drawing conventions for the types of construction covered in (2); (4) a description of sources of complementary information to assist paper based drawings and when they are necessary; (5) description of an automated process of converting paper based drawings, supported by complementary information, to create the digital twin of EosL construction.
Dissemination and communication activities plan (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)Report including dissemination and communication activities plan
Evaluation of current practices and policies in CDW management in EU countries, the UK and China. New technologies and automated solutions (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)This evaluation will include the results from subtasks T1.1 and T1.2. The purpose is to perform an assessment in the EU (with specific analyses over a number of EU countries), as well as the UK and China, regarding the following aspects:- Current targets, policies, legislation, standards and certification systems applicable to circular economy in the construction industry, implementation and future trends;- Current waste production in construction and markets of secondary products for construction materials;- Current best practices in the construction sector for waste management;- Identification of barriers, risks and drivers; The purpose of this initial evaluation is to set benchmarks for comparison and allow assessment of impact of this project. Additionally, other industrial sectors will be explored to identify potential technologies, automated and robotic solutions that could be applicable for raising efficiency in CDW management and treatment in different lifecycle stages of a built structure, their readiness for validation, implementation and exploitation. The methods used will be based on:- secondary research, with data and information gathering for synthesis and analysis;- surveys and interviews to different stakeholders involved in CDW management, making statistical analysis of results;- comparison to key performance indices (including economic, social and economic metrics); The results will feed WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5 and WP6.
Guideline to ascertain quality assurance including proposal for revision/generation of harmonized test / product standards (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)This deliverable will be presented as a report showing the results from task 5.4 and specially providing the guideline to ascertain quality assurance procedures including the testing requirements both at external laboratories and at the waste manager premises to totally characterize the new products alligning this information with market requirements as analized in task 5.3. The revision of test methodologies and product standards will be presented as well as any proposal to ammend or complement existing methodologies or generate new ones that are suitable for CDW based materials.
Methodology for improved logistics concepts regarding collection and automated management of off-site CDW treatment (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)A report will be delivered following common practices in C&D waste collection in terms of by law forced pre-sorting, used types of containers, and typical waste treatments. Furthermore, data about national and European legal requirements will be identified with respect to implementing on-site pre-sorting of waste types following the European waste classification (e.g. is pre-sorting retrieved by law? Are their economic incentives? etc.). Possibilities for new types of waste containers will be described and evaluated to support on-site pre-sorting and where possible suitable modifications of smart (IoT-equipped) waste collection containers will be identified. In parallel suitable concepts for a system (network) of regional centers to provide redistribution of segregated waste materials including variant flow-charts for waste processing and organization will be identified and specified respecting market factors. Finally, recommendations and changes in the regulatory framework for EU will be described by the methodology focusing on aspects like: limits for impurities achievable by automated sorting systems, updated set of characteristics/parameters waste operators at recycling plants will be obliged to monitor and declare, etc.
Digital Information Management System (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)The purpose of the digital information management system (DIMS) is to integrate the different stages of CDW management by providing an integrated digital approach to enable waste traceability and management, where built asset project information is managed through the whole life cycle. This approach will establish a standardised information management workflow/process. This in turn, will serve to integrate the key stakeholders, ensuring that the right information is provided and accessible by the right ones, at the right time, providing a single view of the truth of the built asset information model at key stages in the life cycle (i.e., design, construction, operations, deconstruction, new products life), to effectively enable CDW management (e.g. across the demonstrators). The DIMS will be established through the adoption and customisation of a cloud-based collaboration (BIM information model) solution, underpinned by existing standards, protocols, etc. for information management of BIM/digital twins, etc. This will facilitate a seamless flow of the required built asset information through the whole-life and CDW management process enabled through the interoperability of the different tools through open exchange standards. The required aspects of information security, privacy, and confidentiality will also be considered in alignment with relevant standards. Analytics and smart tools will be integrated to demonstrate the real-time dashboarding and reporting of the CDW management information to support more effective decision making. In addition, the tools for CDW management developed in RECONMATIC will be considered to be integrated within the DIMS to further demonstrate the enhancement of the seamless flow of information throughout the process. The operation of the DIMS will be validated through the implementation of the scenarios in the demonstrators in RECONMATIC. A DIMS version will be adapted to the Chinese market, corresponding standards and regulations to be applied, and offering similar potential use for CDW management and waste traceability in the Chinese construction industry.
