Project description
Boosting climate-smart crop research in Serbia
The Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops (IFVCNS) in Novi Sad is Serbia’s national agricultural research institute. It runs numerous breeding programmes on the development of field and vegetable crop cultivars. However, it lacks innovation capacity in multi-omics and modern phenotyping as well as international visibility and project management and administration skills. The EU-funded CROPINNO project has established a network between the internationally recognised research institutes CSIC-IAS (Cordoba), UNIPD (Padova), FZJ (Jülich) and UROS (Rostock) to accelerate the scientific innovation capacity of IFVCNS in the field of climate-smart crop improvement and production. The project will support IFVCNS’s research management so it can create innovative solutions to address the challenges of climate change.
