Livrables
Dissemination. As per the open data and open science directives described in 1.2, non-patentable output and results will be rendered publically available as soon as they are obtained in the form of preprints or paper drafts on the ChemRxiv repository, where they will be subject to informal open peer review. Invitations for such voluntary review will be sent out to topically appropriate top researchers, impartial towards project RotoLyte, e.g. Prof. M. Wilkening (TU Graz, Austria) or Prof. C. Grey (U Cambridge, UK) for NMR aspects. Following such open peer review, refined papers will be submitted for formal peer review and publication in appropriate journals such as the Journal of Materials Chemistry A, the Journal of the American Chemical Society or Nature Materials. The results will be presented in topical materials- and battery science conferences such as MRS, EUROMAT and/or IBA.Exploitation. Given the potential application of expected outcomes (e.g. a new electrolyte material composition) in energy storage devices, the main stakeholders are small and large corporations active in the battery field. The SEE group maintains active communication links with these companies through bilateral collaboration or through coparticipation in the ALISTORE and BATTERY 2030+ initiatives. As such, interested stakeholders will be kept up to date with potentially exploitable outcomes through yearly project updates in the form of presentation in the above consortia or bilateral discussions. In parallel, TU Delft has a good IP support team and internal procedures to decide whether a patent is advisable, for which markets, and if yes, support the patent application.Communication. I intend to create and publish on Youtube a series of 5 videos describing my work on plastic crystals and the field of materials for energy in general at the layperson level. In addition, I will also communicate my results to the general public during the ‘Delft International Festival of Technology’, a 2-day event organized jointly between the TU and the municipality. Finally, I would like to volunteer at the ‘Imagination at Work’ program of the ‘Youth Communication Chemistry Center (C3)’ in The Hague who for look experts to supervise high-school students on sustainability related research competition (~5 days). All these actions have the goal of informing the public (especially high-school and undergraduate students) about the beauty of science and the prospects of a career in research and innovation.
