Operator-Centered Enhancement of Awareness in Navigation

CORDIS provides links to public deliverables and publications of HORIZON projects.

Links to deliverables and publications from FP7 projects, as well as links to some specific result types such as dataset and software, are dynamically retrieved from OpenAIRE .

Deliverables

Workshop Report (including specialist recommendations) (opens in new window)

D4.1 will report on the workshop organised under task 4.1. It will include the proceedings of the workshop, the programme and info on participants who have provided their consent to have their info published in the deliverable and specialist recommendations to align the work in OCEAN with other efforts to reduce incidents involving vessels and marine mammals.

Root cause analysis (RCA) on navigational accidents (opens in new window)

As output of task 1.4, D1.4 will establish a cause-and-effect- diagram for navigational accidents and the prioritisation of direct and latent root causes.

Patterns relating to lost containers (opens in new window)

Based on task 5.1, the deliverable will include a survey of available data and reports on lost containers and will provide an analysis of the patterns relating to reported lost containers.

Proper future communications relating to dynamic navigational warnings (opens in new window)

D5.4 will report on the opportunities from existing and new communication technologies and systems for notification and dissemination of information related to loss of containers, analysed under task 5.4.

EMA interface description and identification of marine standard needs (opens in new window)

D8.2 will report on EMA interface development support in relation to existing ship systems and marine standards and suggestions for new interfaces and standards, based on the work under task 8.2.

Gap analysis of methods and practice (opens in new window)

Based on task 3.1, D3.1 will provide an analysis of the gap between the availability of methods for the involvement of end users applicable for the maritime domain and the mainstream practice.

Lost container forecast for ships, small craft and recovery operations (opens in new window)

D5.3 will provide a novel navigational warning function using a predictive model of container losses, developed under task 5.3 and building on the work done in task 5.1.

First update of the DECP (opens in new window)

It will consist of the first update 6 months after the project start of the dissemination, exploitation and communication plan from the proposal, done under task 10.1.

Second update of the DECP (opens in new window)

It will consist of the second update of the dissemination, exploitation and communication plan, done under task 10.1, based on the analysis of the implementation of the first update.

Overall infrastructure design (opens in new window)

D6.1 will document the overall infrastructure design for the European Navigational Hazard Infrastructure, reporting on the work done in task 6.1.

Validation of selected data sets (opens in new window)

D7.2 will document the work under task 7.3 concerning the verification and validation of datasets and information identified in task 7.1 and 7.2.

Initial training on dependable systems review (opens in new window)

D3.5 will provide a briefing for the project partners relating to the dependable systems review, as per task 3.4

Identification of navigational accidents’ root causes (opens in new window)

Based on task 1.1, D1.1 will identify the dominant causes identified for navigational accidents including latent or less recognized causes including HCD and system risks, through an in-depth reassessment of past accidents, input from senior navigators and available data. It will also discuss these against the project pre-proposal hypotheses.

Improved operator decision-making (opens in new window)

As output of task 2.3, D2.3 will compile design guidelines for WP3 and training requirements for improved operator decision-making.

Identification of information conducive to enhanced tactical situation awareness (opens in new window)

Building on the outputs of WP1 and as a result of the work done under task 7.1, D7.1 will provide an identification and ranking of actionable information conducive to enhanced tactical situation awareness.

Knowledge repository (TRL4-5) (opens in new window)

As output of task 1.2, D1.2 will consist of a knowledge repository that will organise collected data on navigation accidents root causes and analysis.

Information needs relating to the recovery of lost containers (opens in new window)

Based on the knowledge gathered from user workshops and surveys under task 5.2, D5.2 will identify requirements and information needs for notifying and facilitating container salvage and tracking for the relevant authorities.

Tracking navigational hazard databases design and implementation (opens in new window)

D6.2 will document the design and implementation of both marine mammals and lost containers databases carried out under task 6.2 and will include the full analysis of the different data streams, data fields and underlying data models.

KPIs and metrics to measure and improve navigational safety (opens in new window)

As output of task 1.3, D1.3 will document the most qualified and practically applicable KPIs on navigation accident categorisation and the process to define and select them.

Tailored information packages for stakeholders (opens in new window)

D10.4 will compile the different information packages tailored to different categories of stakeholders developed under task 10.2. It will document the first version of these info packages. Further updates will be included within 10.9 and 10.10.

Project website (opens in new window)

It will consist of the public project website, developed under task 10.2.

Improved training standards (opens in new window)

Based on task 2.2, D2.2 will identify weaknesses and opportunities in minimum training standards identified by the IMO and will provide digital training materials and videos for the maritime education and training community.

BNWAS escalation architecture (opens in new window)

D8.3 will be the demonstrator for the BNWAS escalation architecture developed under task 8.3.
