This Report will describe our Data Management Plan.
DUNE Far Detector simulation and reconstruction tools developed and tested (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)We will develop new software tools to exploit the imaging features of the DUNE Far Detectors, including the LArSoft software for event reconstruction in LAr-TPCs by using Deep Learning techniques and by improving particle identification capabilities of the detector. The complementarity between the charge and light signals generated in LAr-TPCs makes it clear that combining the information from both offers the potential to significantly improve the reconstruction performance. This approach must be demonstrated on large scale detectors (like DUNE) and extended to exploit also the information contained in the arrival time distribution of light signals.
Design of the second DUNE Far Detector validated (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)We will perform all the necessary steps to validate the design of the second DUNE Far Detector. This will include the assembly and test of a Module-0 detector which will employ all the foreseen technical solutions to be operated as part of the ProtoDUNE-II program at the CERN Neutrino platform.
Workshop day at General Meetings (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)In coincidence with the annual General Meeting, we will organize a one-day workshop. The target of the seminars and lectures given by SENSE researchers will be university students in physics, engineering, computing science and material science, and, possibly, technical high-school students in their last year.
SBND liquid argon cryostat installed (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)We will exploit the knowledge and experience matured at CERN with the development of the ProtoDUNE infrastructures to commission the SBND cryostat and the cryogenic systems at FNAL.
Summer Students at US Laboratories (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)We will organize trainings on SENSE research activities for the students of the “Summer School at FNAL and other US Laboratories”. An effort will be made to give the students the opportunity to meet researchers of the non-academic partners and discuss the prospects of working on research and development in European private companies
SBND Detector, Cosmic Ray Tagger and Photon Detection System installed (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)We will exploit the expertise acquired in liquid argon scintillation light (at WA105, ProtoDUNE- DP, SBND) to commission and operate the Cosmic Ray Tagger and the Photon Detection System of the SBND experiment.
