Livrables

The sustainability of the supply and demand of EU forests and related knowledge gaps (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The main result of this deliverable is a discrete set of sector’s R&I pathways, designed for different regions of Europe. Aside vast list of secondary data sources, these pathways will also be designed on primary data; series of workshops with experts covering different stratums of the sector, followed by a widely distributed survey aimed to define regionalized scenarios of sector’s future developments in terms of supply of and demand for its’ products and services. Among other elements, deliverable will also address critical and key forest-industry technologies. Linked to T2.3 and T2.4.

Mid-term practice abstracts (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

Contains at least 4 practice abstracts from finalized tasks of WP1 and WP2 (linked to T4.2).

Rules of Procedures for the stakeholder engagement hub (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

RoP describe institutions and procedures for stakeholder engagement within the project and towards the European Partnership for Forestry. Represents the procedural design of EUFORE stakeholder engagement hub. As a minimum, entails (I) options for its institutions (working groups, secretariat, a stakeholder assembly); (II) options for deliberation procedures and decision taking; (III) connections to existing platforms and networks (i.e., FTP, other partnerships and national platforms). These are all design elements what will become the structure of the European Partnership on Forestry. Linked to T3.2

European forestry and forest-based sector innovation review (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

Report providing an overview and analysis of innovation activities in the European forest-based sector, focusing on the role of factors that affect development and uptake of innovations. The report will be based on a screening of current EU innovation databases and collection of empirical data via surveys across EU countries and expert interviews (linked to T1.2)

Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for the European forest-based sector (SRIA) and SRIA’s roadmap (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

It will be a document co-designed with stakeholders, and aside listing prioritization of topics, it will also include the implementation timeline, designation of funding instruments and actor groups per topic. Linked to T3.5

Communication, dissemination and exploitation plan (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

Document describing strategy, structure and timeline for all project communication and dissemination, and exploitation of results across the lifetime of the project. It includes target audiences, key communication channels and tools, key messages, proposed timing of activities, as well as methods of monitoring implementation and impact (KPIs). Linked to T4.1.

Societal expectations towards EU forests (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

This deliverable thematically focuses on societal expectations towards EU forests, and covers it through (I) literature review, (II) focus groups and interviews across Europe’s regions and (III) general survey that statistically representative for at least 20 European countries. The main findings of the survey and other analyses will be reported as a slide-deck that can be directly used in stakeholder meetings (linked to T2.1).

Future trends in forest use and related value chains derived from forest-relevant policies (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

This deliverable draws predominantly on secondary data sources to perform forest-focused, forest-related and forest-industry-related policy analysis; on EU, national and regional level. The analysis focuses on identifying objectives and their trends in relation to land use and R&I implications, with the aim of describing main narratives that are propagated by different groups of policies and thus to anticipate what future policy directions might be. Linked to T2.2.

Mid-term policy brief (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

Contains one policy brief, reflecting summarized findings of policy relevance from finalised tasks of WP1 and WP2 (linked to T4.2).

Review of European forestry and the forest-based sector research and innovation governance (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

Report providing an overview of funding management and distribution in Europe. For a subset of countries, patterns of funding attribution and governance models will be described. Analysis will predominantly relay on data generated through interviews with relevant experts, stakeholders and policy makers on European, national (at least 6 countries) and regional (through ERIAFF) level (linked to T1.3).

Review of research activity in European forestry and the forest-based sector (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

Report providing systematic analysis of research activity based on data and meta-data of scientific publications within the EU. Analysis is based on data from scholarly data-bases. The deliverable will detail research activity, capacities, geographical distribution, trends, gaps and emerging research directions (linked to T1.1).

Stakeholder Engagement Protocol (s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)

The stakeholder engagement protocol will support these stakeholder interactions and present a consistent approach.
