Deliverables

Barley lines with improved straw quality (opens in new window)

Twenty lines with different straw lignin content or higher protein amount to be used for trait pyramiding in Task 3.1 and for field trials in Task 4.2. Lines with enriched content of proteins in the straw will also be used to feed BSF larvae in Task 5.1, whereas lines with different lignin content and/or properties will used for the activities planned in Task 5.2 and Task 5.3.
