Project description
International coordination of animal disease research
Animal diseases represent a critical threat to the livestock industry and to human health. As these diseases are transboundary, global solutions are needed. The STAR-IDAZ International Research Consortium (IRC) is a network working on research activities and coordinated research funding for the major animal diseases affecting livestock production and human health and is supported by a secretariat (SIRCAH). The EU-funded SIRCAH 2 project will build on its predecessor’s success by enabling the coordination of research at an international level, identifying and addressing critical knowledge gaps and accelerating the development of new or improved disease control strategies. The project will provide organisational and communication support to the STAR-IDAZ IRC Committees and members, and assist research roadmap development for priority diseases and issues.
