Deliverables
A report to define the reference wind farms to support Tasks 5.2 and Task 5.3, including location, layout, turbine types, operational and environmental scenarios. For the surface wind energy case studies (Sub-Task 5.2.1), the report will describe onshore and offshore wind farm(s). For the AWES case studies (Sub-Task 5.3.1 ), the report will describe an offshore farm, an isolated inland microgrid and a medium-scale inland wind farm.
Interim report on best practice guidelines for modelling loads and performance (opens in new window)The report will contain guidelines and recommendations for how to assess the sensitivity of inflow conditions and rotor modelling on the resulting loads and performance of the wind turbine. It includes Task 4.1-4.4 and covers both offshore and airborne wind power, and includes stand-alone wind turbines as well as wind turbines in wind farms.
Interim report on characterisation & modelling of inflow & wake turbulence (opens in new window)This is a report detailing the interim results of the work of the tasks in WP3 to characterise and model inflow and wake turbulence. The intention of this deliverable is to provide a progress report on the work approximately mid-way through WP3 to identify the most promising approaches.
Knowledge and data hub with documentation concerning workflows (opens in new window)With this deliverable, functionalities of the knowledge and data hub will be provided to users, together with the documentation. The information regarding simulation and analysis workflows, for which the hub can be utilized, will be included as well. The deliverable will cover activities of all the tasks in the work package 2. The first version will be published in month 24, followed by the update in month 48.
Report on data standardisation and metadata templates (opens in new window)This report will document task 2.2’s data management efforts associated with findability and interoperability. An overview of the developed metadata template will be given. In addition, activities regarding data standardization necessary for ensuring interoperability will be reported as well
The open-source design analysis and optimisation platform, developed in Sub-Task 5.1.1, will be uploaded to an open-access repository. The deliverable will also include an accompanying documentation, to allow users to integrate and couple different tools, apply the toolchain to onshore/offshore and aerial systems, and extend the platform based on need.
Working prototype of a remote interactive visualisation of a wind farm using Vistle in immersive virtual reality (opens in new window)The visualisation software environment Vistle, extended within Sub-Task 5.1.2 to support the simulations developed with the tool chain of Sub-Task 5.1.1, will be made available to the project partners. The deliverable will include the application of Vistle to the interactive visualization of the unsteady flow field within a wind farm.
A database of validated model simulation data will be created which can be used in the temporal and spatial characterisation of inflow and turbulent wake conditions experienced by wind turbines and wind farms.
Database of pre-existing meteorological data sources suitable for inflow and wake turbulence modelling (opens in new window)A database will be created of preexisting meteorological data based on publicly available sources of relevance to inflow and turbulence modelling for wind turbines and wind farms
